The film studies the role of hands in collaborative practice between a glassblower and a photographer. We follow the glassblower as she handcrafts unique glass lenses for application to facilitate the photographer’s practice. Exploring the role of hands within their respective crafts, the film captures the different approaches, and highlights tacit handling as synonymous to both.
The awareness and appreciation developed from reviewing the role of hands, challenges our perception of practice and potential. Through collaboration, new ideas form that extend the boundaries of craft practice and highlight the innovative agency of glass.
